Abercrombie and Fitch Walnut and Brass Ice Bucket Circa 1970 - Italian
Walnut and brass ice bucket made in Italy for Abercrombie & Fitch. This piece likely dates to the 1970s, when the retailer of wares for outdoorsmen, struggling financially, introduced new lines of luxury home goods to bolster sales. The 1970s is also when good like Omersa's line of leather animals was sold through the retailer.
Measures about 9 1/4 inches high overall, 8 1/2 inches wide, 8 1/2 inches deep. Abercrombie & Fitch label on underside.
Overall condition is good. Natural variation in the color and figure of the wood, with minor wear to the finish. The top has a couple areas of minor cracking along the grain and a very small ding to the finish. Some wear to the brass trim, especially on the top surface. The white plastic liner is in good condition and can be removed (it was originally glued in place).
