Dansk Kobenstyle Saucepan with Lid in Black, France, 1970s
Dansk Kobenstyle Saucepan with Lid in Black, France, 1970s
Dansk Kobenstyle saucepan, in enameled metal with out turned spout and teak handle. The lid can double as a trivet. This is the largest of the butter warmer-style pots that were launched in the mid-1960s.
Dansk Kobenstyle was made in many colors over the years—black and white enamel were introduced in 1971 and made only for two years in France (it was later reissued). This is the largest of the three sizes in which this pot was made.
Measures about 4 1/4 inches diameter across pot, just under 4 1/4 inches high to rim (lid adds a bit more), about 9 3/4 inches across pot and handle. Enameled mark on underside of pot.
Overall condition is very good. Kobenstyle is prone to chips, but this example is show very little wear overall. the pot has a very small chip to the white at the rim and a bit of discoloration at the spout; the underside of the pot is in good shape. The edge of the lid that fits inside the pot shows a couple tiny losses, and there are traces of the original Dansk sticker inside the lid. The teak handle is in good condition with a tiny bit of wiggle in in the fitting, no corrosion or rust at the screw.
