Dansk Rosewood Serving Spoon - Ladle, Norway, late 1960s
Dansk Rosewood Serving Spoon - Ladle, Norway, late 1960s
Dansk rosewood and stainless steel serving spoon, model 520, designed by Jens Quistgaard, circa 1966. This design was meant to complement all Dansk flatware patterns and seems to have been made only in this size spoon. The finely turned wood handle has natural variation in color and open grain. Made in Norway (others of this form were made in Finland).
Measures about 8 5/8 inches long.
Overall condition is good. The stainless steel shows little wear. There is minor wear to the wood handle and the open grain of the wood shows up as tiny lines or holes--this is natural and not a condition issue. The handle is secure, with no splits or losses to the wood, but there is a bit of wear to the finish on the center knop.
