Dansk Teak Condiment Box by Jens Quistgaard IHQ 1960s - Acorn Jar
This small teak lidded box was designed by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk and produced for a short time in the early 1960s. Called a 'condiment box' in Dansk catalogues, the lidded form recalls the shape of an acorn. Each piece is turned from a single piece of teak (not laminated or staved).
Measures about 6 1/4 inches high overall, 4 3/8 inches diameter across broadest part of lid, 2 3/8 inches diameter across mouth. Branded four-duck mark, made in Denmark, early 1960s.
Overall condition is good, with no splits (because the pieces are single pieces of wood, this form is prone to splitting). Minor surface wear, very faint fade line showing a difference in color on the container under the lid--you can just see this in the third and fourth images. There is natural variation in the figure of the wood, with some darker spots on the lid.
