Dansk Fjord Flatware Service for 4 - Teak Wood Handle 20-Piece Set, 1960s
Dansk Fjord Flatware Service for 4 - Teak Wood Handle 20-Piece Set, 1960s
Dansk teak-handled stainless steel flatware in the Fjord pattern, designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1954. A mid-century classic, this pattern is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Early production made in Germany, late 1950s.
The set comprises:
4 dinner knives
4 dinner forks
4 salad/luncheon forks
4 tablespoons
4 teaspoons
There are 20 pieces total. All pieces are marked Dansk Designs Germany IHQ. Most of the pieces still have their original plastic wrappers—a few have never been opened.
Overall condition is very good, with most of the pieces showing little to no wear. Some very minor wear to the stainless steel. Natural variation in the color and figure of the teak handles. All plugs are present, and show very little wear. There is no splitting or losses to the teak, and the joins are tight and secure.
One teaspoon lacks a plastic wrapper, one tablespoon is in a Reed & Barton wrapper, and one knife is in a plain plastic wrapper. There are two different styles of the plastic wrappers—one is Dansk Designs with the four ducks, the other is Dansk Designs Ltd.
I have other individual pieces in the Fjord pattern available. Please be in touch if you are interested.
