Set of Six Antique Majolica Ceramic Plates, 19th century

$0.00

Set of six majolica ceramic plates, each molded with leaves and flowers (pansies and cornflowers, among others?) and glazed in shades of green, blue and pink. The geometric and beaded border is seen in plates produced by firms such as Villeroy & Boch, Sarreguemines, and Choisy-le-Roi among other French and German manufacturers.

Each plate measures 7 3/4 inches diameter. Each impressed '7' on the reverse, circa 1890.

Overall condition is good. One plate has a small chip, another plate has a slightly more yellow-ish background color than the others. A few plates have some losses to the glaze at high points of the molded decoration. Some crazing is visible, and variation in the color and glaze throughout all.
