Vintage Dansk Fjord Flatware Service for 8, Made in Germany, 1950s
Dansk teak-handled stainless steel flatware in the Fjord pattern, designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1954. A mid-century classic, this pattern is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Early production made in Germany, 1960s.
The set comprises:
8 dinner knives
8 dinner forks
8 salad/luncheon forks
8 tablespoons
8 teaspoons
There are 40 pieces total. All pieces are marked Dansk Designs Germany, with the four ducks mark.

Overall condition is good. Some minor wear to the stainless steel, with a couple tiny rust spots on the stainless. Natural variation in the color and figure of the teak handles. All plugs are present, with a very small amount of wear and white rings. The forks seem to have a bit more wear than the rest of the set, with slightly more wear and denting to the wood handles. There is no splitting or losses to the teak, and the joins are tight and secure. If you would like additional images or info, please let me know--I've handled a lot of Dansk and I am very picky about condition!
This flatware is NOT safe for use in dishwashers. I recommend rubbing the wood handles with a food-safe oil once or twice a year to keep them in top form.
